Your messages are encrypted the moment they land in your ProtonMail account and no one except you, not even Proton, can then access their content.

Import Assistant runs in the background and can transfer messages from any email provider that supports the IMAP protocol.

We plan to integrate all Proton import applications into Import Assistant. In the future, you will be able to transfer data from your external calendar, contacts, and email service to Proton with a single tool.

Transferring your emails to Proton is an important first step as you gradually transition from privacy-invasive companies. If you need more help making the switch, check out our migration guides for Gmail, Yahoo, and Outlook.
