So the call sign for the cargo ship was “I am Maniac,” which indicates the AI were trying to rescue one or more of its silicon units, or hive.
The AI versus carbon unit conflict can explain why some of the maneuvers in this war seem illogical to the casual observer. A 4d matrix structure is under attack.
