Microsoft’s Edge browser now loads sites even faster
Microsoft Edge now renders its first visible content in under 300 milliseconds, thanks to a major upgrade using the new WebUI 2.0 architecture. This means the browser feels much faster and more responsive, with 13 key features—like settings, split screen, and Read Aloud—now up to 40% quicker than before.
While this doesn’t mean entire websites load instantly, it does make the initial experience super snappy, which is proven to boost user satisfaction. Microsoft plans even more speed improvements soon, targeting features like Print Preview and Extensions.
Would you consider switching to Edge now that it’s so much faster? 🚀

OpenAI to release web browser in challenge to Google Chrome
OpenAI is about to launch its own AI-powered web browser, likely before the end of July, aiming to shake up the Chrome-dominated market. The browser will feature a ChatGPT-style chat interface and deep AI integration, letting users interact conversationally, automate tasks (like filling forms or booking reservations), and get instant summaries or answers—often without ever clicking through to traditional websites.
It’s built on Chromium, just like Chrome, so it’ll feel familiar but with a much smarter, assistant-like vibe. If it catches on with ChatGPT’s 400 million+ weekly users, it could seriously challenge how Google gathers data and serves ads. Would you try a browser that acts more like a helpful AI assistant than a regular browser? 😄

Google Gemini on Wear OS’ rolling out via the Play Store
Gemini is officially rolling out to Wear OS smartwatches as a replacement for Google Assistant, starting with a Play Store update that rebrands the old “Assistant” app to “Google Gemini on Wear OS.” The update is live for some users now (version 1.22.5.x), but will reach all Wear OS 4+ devices—including Pixel Watch, Samsung —over the next few weeks.
Gemini brings more natural, conversational AI to your wrist, lets you control workouts, check health stats, send messages, remember info, and interact with apps like Gmail, Calendar, and YouTube Music—all with the same “Hey Google” hotword or a button press. It’s part of the July 2025 Pixel Feature Drop, but you don’t need to update your OS—just the app!
Are you excited to try Gemini on your watch, or sticking with Assistant for now?⏲️ ✨

Foldable iPhone Display Production Begins Ahead of Launch Next Year
Samsung Display has started producing foldable OLED panels exclusively for Apple’s first foldable iPhone, with a dedicated line at its A3 factory in South Korea. The display is a 7-inch, inward-folding, crease-free OLED, and Apple is expected to launch the device alongside the iPhone 18 lineup in 2026, with an initial production target of 6–8 million units and a price likely over $2,000.
Samsung’s production capacity (15 million panels/year) far exceeds Apple’s initial needs, preparing for future demand and new models. The foldable iPhone will feature a super-thin design, durable hinge, dual rear cameras, the new A20 chip, and Touch ID. Samsung will remain Apple’s exclusive display supplier for several years due to its foldable tech expertise.📱
Would you be interested in a foldable iPhone, or do you prefer the classic design?

Nintendo to discontinue Switch Game Voucher service
Nintendo is discontinuing its Switch Game Voucher service.
From 11.59pm January 30, 2026, the Japanese games giant said it will "no longer be possible to purchase Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers."
Nintendo Switch game vouchers are a perk of Nintendo Switch Online membership. They are purchased as in a duo and are redeemable against eligible eShop games, essentially letting Switch Online subscribers buy premium games at a discount.
Nintendo didn't give a reason for ending the scheme, but thanked players for their participation in the Nintendo Switch Online service and reminded them that all unused vouchers expire 12 months after purchase.
That means Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers purchased on January 30, 2026, will remain valid until January 30, 2027, after which time all vouchers will have expired.

“GTA 7 Will Be Cheaper To Make Than GTA 6” Says Former Rockstar Developer
A former Rockstar developer, Obbe Vermeij, recently said in an interview that GTA 7 could be much cheaper to make than GTA 6, mainly thanks to advances in AI that reduce development costs. He also shared insights about GTA 3’s development and his thoughts on the GTA 6 trailer, plus revealed his favorite protagonist is Niko Bellic from GTA 4.
Fun fact: GTA 5 and GTA Online are finally launching in Saudi Arabia and the UAE after a long ban, with a 21+ age rating, making a GTA 6 release there likely too. Are you more hyped for GTA 6 or already thinking ahead to GTA 7? 🙃

Japan sets new internet speed record — it's 4 million times faster than average US broadband speeds
Japanese engineers have smashed the internet speed world record, achieving a mind-blowing 1.02 petabytes per second—that’s over 1 million GB zipping across 1,900+ km in a single second 🤯. It was done using a high-tech 19-core optical fiber, basically a "19-lane data highway," allowing parallel streams without needing chunky cables.
Although it’s just lab tech for now, it could power the backbone of cloud computing, AI, 6G, and global data centers in the near future. Imagine downloading all of Netflix in a second—yeah, that fast.
Want a peek at how that 19-core fiber actually works? 🧪

Gboard update brings back original Emoji, GIF picker by Abner Li
After beta testing, Gboard is undoing key aspects of the Emoji and GIF picker update that Android users did not particularly like.
At the start of June, Google introduced a new carousel consisting of rectangular cards to switch between Emoji, Custom Stickers (for phones with Pixel Studio), GIFs, Stickers, and Emoticons. Those with the Pixel 9 saw that last time go offscreen with this new design, thus requiring a scroll/swipe. All users saw the loss of the delete key in favor of a FAB (floating action button) that covered some items.
That navigation redesign is now gone and Gboard has gone back to what’s essentially the original look, but with items placed in (narrower) cards. As such, everything fits in one screen again.

Chinese authorities are using a new tool to hack seized phones and extract data
Chinese authorities are now using a forensic malware tool called Massistant, developed by Xiamen Meiya Pico, to extract a huge range of data from seized Android phones—including texts (even from encrypted apps like Signal), photos, location history, contacts, and more. This tool requires physical access to the unlocked device, and is reportedly widespread in China, with reports from people who found it on their phones after police encounters.
Massistant works alongside special hardware, and though there’s no confirmed iPhone version, the company’s site suggests similar Apple-targeting tools may exist. The upside: this malware leaves traces—so users may notice or delete it if they're savvy, but by the time it's discovered, authorities have usually already copied all the data.

Looks like Steam is having a messy crackdown on sex games
Steam just made a major shift in its adult content policy: games that violate the “rules and standards” of payment processors, credit card companies, banks, or ISPs are now banned from the platform—with “special attention” to adult-only content, like noscripts featuring incest, which have already been quietly removed in bulk. The trouble is, Valve’s not giving devs any real specifics, so now what’s allowed largely depends on the vague (and often moralistic) guidelines of payment processors, making things confusing and uneven for both creators and players.
In short: Valve’s letting banks and payment companies call the shots, especially on controversial sexual content, which means more bans and uncertainty ahead for “edgy” adult games. 😬
