MrBeast is taking his brand into a whole new industry.
The YouTube creator reportedly plans to launch a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) next year, offering mobile phone services powered by existing networks like AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. By using this model, MrBeast avoids the heavy infrastructure costs of building a network from scratch while still being able to provide affordable, competitive phone plans. This strategic move could make his telecom venture appealing to cost-conscious consumers while also leveraging his massive fanbase to quickly gain traction in a crowded market.
Another bold leap from content creation to real-world disruption.

Nepal's Gen Z protestors, angered by social media bans, used Discord to organise and vote for their next leader, selecting Sushila Karki from over 130,000 members on the Youth Against Corruption server.
By Wednesday, September 10, the server appeared to have reached a consensus. Sushila Karki, Nepal's former chief justice, was chosen as the next leader. South China Morning Post reported that 7,713 votes were cast before Karki reached 50%. She subsequently met Nepal's President Ram Chandra Poudel and Army Chief Gen. Ashok Raj Sigdel the following day.
The platform's servers allow large groups to deliberate and discuss important issues. Nepal's protestors created servers and channels for different purposes, including announcements, fact-checking, ground updates, news dumps, queries, emergency helplines, and general discussion. This structure enabled a smooth flow of information crucial for mass movements.

Rumor: smaller Dynamic Island but no under-screen Face ID for iPhone 18
As Apple continues towards their goal of a true all-screen iPhone, it looks like the iPhone 18 will get them one step closer.
There have long been conflicting rumors on when the Dynamic Island might finally see a design update. Most recently, it was rumored that the iPhone 17 may have a smaller Dynamic Island, but that of course didn’t pan out. However, according to Instant Digital on Weibo, the iPhone 18 lineup will see a narrower Dynamic Island cutout, but will not yet be making the move to an under-screen Face ID or front camera:
The iPhone 18 series is just a slightly narrower pill, it does not have a single camera, and does not have under-screen Face ID or an under-screen camera. (translated via Google Translate).

Xbox PC app adds Steam games and access to other stores
Microsoft just made gaming on PC way easier by updating the Xbox app to show all your games in one place! Now, whether your games are from Steam, Battle.net, or other stores, they’ll automatically pop up in your Xbox PC app’s library, so you can launch them without jumping between launchers.
They’re also adding a "My Apps" section to quickly launch other apps like browsers or rival stores, especially handy on the new Xbox Ally handheld devices. Plus, coming soon: cloud-playable games and synced game history across consoles, PCs, or handhelds so you can jump right back into your games wherever you are.

Spotify's Free Tier Changes: Play the Song You Want Whenever You Want
Spotify is rolling out improvements to its free music tier, including the new ability to listen to any song you want, and this follows the company granting Premium users access to lossless streams.
The company outlined three new ways ad-supported users can now access the specific song they want to listen to without shuffling: Pick & Play to choose any song from the interface, including your library; Search & Play to use the app's search function; and Share & Play to listen to a Spotify song link shared by friends or artists.
Free users can also listen to playlists or create their own and design custom artwork for them, as well as listen to podcasts.

Google announces massive expansion of AI features in Chrome
Google is adding more artificial intelligence into its Chrome browser as the search giant tries to fend off burgeoning competition from AI startups OpenAI and Perplexity.
In a blog post Thursday, Google said it’s rolling out Gemini in Chrome to users of Mac and Windows computers in the U.S. as well as to mobile devices. Users will be able to ask Gemini for help understanding the contents of a particular webpage, work across tabs, or do more within a single tab, such as schedule a meeting or search for a YouTube video.
“We are evolving the browser to help you get the most from the web - in ways we didn’t think possible even a few years ago,” said Rick Osterloh, Google’s senior vice president in charge of platforms and devices, in a statement. “And we are doing it while keeping the speed, simplicity and safety of Chrome that so many people love.”
