There's a bug in Ubuntu where Bluetooth doesn't work on a certain set of Atheros adapters because the Linux kernel thinks that it's a different adapter because Atheros named with the same model number (affects some 2011-2013 era Lenovo laptops)
As of June 15 the fix (which is in Linux's main codebase) still hasn't been rolled out to Ubuntu's repository
