AI requires vast amounts of digital data to function effectively. Large language models (LLMs) already have access to data generated by people themselves, such as content found on the internet. However, emerging technologies like trending virtual reality (VR) systems, virtual eyeglasses, and headsets are now capable of collecting data directly from our environment as we use them.
The companies that own these technologies will therefore have access to a wealth of data that is not generated by human beings, but rather captured by their own products from our surrounding environment. This means they can potentially leverage this environmental data as a valuable resource to further train and enhance their LLMs, in addition to the data generated by human interactions.
In essence, the ability of these advanced devices to gather data autonomously from the real world gives their parent companies a unique advantage in terms of the data resources available for developing increasingly capable LLMs and other AI systems.
The companies that own these technologies will therefore have access to a wealth of data that is not generated by human beings, but rather captured by their own products from our surrounding environment. This means they can potentially leverage this environmental data as a valuable resource to further train and enhance their LLMs, in addition to the data generated by human interactions.
