Japan achived 1 million Gbps internet speed 🤯 1,000,000,000 Mbps ☠️
🚀 Top 5 Internet Link Speed Records
1. Japan – 1.02 Petabits per second (Pbps)
- Achieved using a 19-core optical fiber over 1,808 km
- Equivalent to 1,020,000,000 Mbps
- Fast enough to download the entire Netflix library in under a second
2. Japan – 402 Terabits per second (Tbps)
- Set in March 2024 using standard fiber optic cables
- Demonstrated with 37.6 THz bandwidth across 50 km
- Enabled by advanced Raman-amplification and DWDM technologies
3. Japan – 321 Tbps
- Previous record before the 402 Tbps breakthrough
- Also achieved using fiber optics and custom amplifiers
4. Japan – 319 Tbps
- Set in 2021 by NICT
- Marked a major leap in multi-band fiber transmission
5. University College London – 178 Tbps
- Achieved in 2020
- Used custom modulation formats and amplification techniques over optical fiber
These speeds are experimental and not available for consumer use yet—but they showcase the jaw-dropping potential of future internet infrastructure.
