This transmission backbone ensures that energy generated in resource-rich states can be efficiently delivered to high-demand regions.

🟢 Intra-State Transmission: Green Energy Corridor (GEC)

India is also strengthening intra-state transmission through the Green Energy Corridor (GEC) initiative:

GEC-I : Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra - ₹10,141.68 Cr

GEC-II : Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh - ₹12,031.33 Cr

States have been advised to prepare 10-year transmission plans to support future renewable capacity.
