🚨 Budaun Birth Certificate Scam

📌 Overview

- Nearly 40,000 fake birth certificates uncovered in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh.
- Hackers misused Gram Panchayat IDs & mobile numbers, altering linked emails/phones to bypass verification.
- Fraudulent entries uploaded without Panchayat or Health Dept. knowledge.

- Hazara (Usawan block): ~18,000 fake certificates vs ~1,700 residents
- Phulasi (Uzani block): ~15,000 fake certificates
- Sainjani (Dataganj block): ~4,000 fake certificates
- Other villages & hospitals: Under investigation

- Triggered after a similar scam in Aligarh.
- District Magistrate ordered probe.
- FIRs filed in Uzani & Usawan police stations.

- Union Home Ministry intervened:
- Cancelled suspicious certificates
- Ordered review of 1,425 user IDs (Panchayats, hospitals, health dept.)
