- one is a 3-month old girl . She was hospitalised and discharged
- second is an 8-month boy who tested positive for HMPV on Jan 3rd.
- third one ( A two-month-old baby from Rajasthan tested positive for HumanMetapneumovirus in an Ahmedabad hospital
( This child is not from Ahmedabad The baby showed symptoms of cold and cough, after which the family shifted the child to hospital in Ahmedabad
- Affected patients DO NOT have any history of international travel
- Both cases identified through routine surveillance.
- ICMR says HMPV is already in circulation globally, including in India and cases of respiratory illnesses associated with HMPV have been reported in various countries

•HMPV is a respiratory virus that can cause symptoms similar to the flu, including coughing, fever, and shortness of breath.
•It mainly affects young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.
