Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea New Voice and SMS Packs aren't Really Affordable, and here's what you need to understand
1) Jio, Airtel, and Vi have basically taken their old plans which came with voice calling and validity along with very little amount of data and revamped them.
2) If you take the old plans, which are not available now, and compare them with the new plans, they cost the same on a daily average.
This means that Airtel, Jio and Vi have actually indirectly raised the cost of using these plans.
3) Jio, Airtel, and Vi have reduced the price of the plan, but also reduced the validity, and removed the data. The effective cost of using the plan is the same, but the data is absent.
4) TRAI wanted voice and SMS only packs for customers who wanted to keep their SIM active at a lower cost and didn't need data.
However, telcos have played a clever game here.
5) All the private telcos had opposed the move from TRAI to bring SMS and voice only packs in December 2024.
Jio had even said that customers would need some amount of data to make UPI payments.
6) Airtel and Vi had indicated that removing data from plans would discorage the digital India vision.
However, TRAI didn't pay heed to their requests and asked them to bring these plans anyway, and now they have!
7) So effectively, telcos have done what they wanted to. Now the ball is in the court of TRAI, which is going to examine these vouchers.
8) Users have expressed great concern around these plans. After the tariff hikes, the cost to keep their SIM active has gone up signficantly.
9) Many users online have said that they would ultimately look to port out to BSNL, which is offering services at the lowest tariffs.

Many people are criticizing S25 Series, but, this time they didn't increase price & S25 series have:
✅ Very good display ✅ Great SoC ✅ Great camera (except one) ✅ One of the best UI and updates
But 2 things - battery & that very old 10MP telephoto Need Major Improvements !

Meta Now Lets Users Say Gay and Trans People Have ‘Mental Illness’
Meta announced updates to its content moderation policies, ending fact-checking partnerships and lifting restrictions on speech about immigration, gender, and identity. Chief Global Affairs Officer Joel Kaplan said content allowed in public forums should also be allowed on Meta platforms, while CEO Mark Zuckerberg called current rules outdated.
Key changes include allowing accusations of mental illness tied to gender or sexual orientation, permitting claims about gender-based job restrictions, and removing bans on linking protected groups to spreading COVID-19. Language warning that hateful speech may promote violence was removed, though rules against inciting imminent violence remain. Protections against Holocaust denial, blackface, and dehumanizing comparisons of protected groups were retained.
Meta reaffirmed protections for groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, and immigration status but did not clarify if controversial statements, such as Donald Trump’s comments on immigrants, would be allowed.
