-First party photo editing suite except missing eraser
-Video editor is also fine
-Can crop the subject, and save it to the smart bar
-Screenshot annotation is perfect
-Third video shows what it came up with for the 'Video Vlog' thingy.
🔴Something very annoying in general about this skin, is that the bottom navigation bars for any app (1st party) are not swipable. You *have* to tap on them, can't slide. The camera app missing thumb gestures for operation is another annoyance.
🟢Speaking of updates, it's right now on the July 2025 patch! That's as fast as... uh, the Xiaomi 14 which also went from May to July update (14 still has June patch but whatever)
Summary
🟢Multitasking, (mostly) customization
🟢Feature suite
🟢Animations (mostly)
🟢Battery, RAM optimization
🔴Camera app
🔴Feels heavy to use, quite slow in many places
🔴Missing some AOSP basics, cuts down some features that can be *easily* added
🔴Mixed UI design with no originality
🔴Bad haptic implementation
🔴Some of the worst widgets on any skin
🔴Buggy

1. Third party widget animations (Not totally broken, but not good, very laggy)
2. First party widget animations (Good. If only there were actually some good widgets for this)
Yeah, spacing and all is fine but what's the use.

Infinix XOS 15 review (on the Infinix Note 50X) it's a *very* feature packed software, with better animations even at ₹10,500. (1/12) Join - @tech_zone40
Conclusion
Color OS at ~16K starting with K13 becomes good, but is horrible at 10.5K.
For 10.5K..
Nothing OS doesn't sell at 10.5K, FunTouch OS does not either, Realme UI is horrible, forget Android Go, & ignore Poco. One UI 7 might compete well
For 10,000 to ~16,000 better take this over the others in terms of software. After 16K it's still Color OS, FunTouch OS, & Nothing OS that are far better skins overall than this. Oh yes, this is far better than Hyper OS for Poco & Redmi as well, but that is not a super high bar to clear.
Final words, Infinix/ Tecno have done a very good job with XOS/ Hi OS 15, this is a step in the right direction.
Circle to Search is there, yes, it works, but is quite laggy and also slow,
There's a 1st-party Circle to Search 'clone' called 'Folax Smart' or something, just use C2S instead

Many people have the general idea that :
Snapdragon > Mediatek, which is wrong
Now a brand is pushing this very wrong idea because they'll launch
phone with 6s Gen 3 phone< 15K in 2025
A particular SoC is good or bad, not brand
Eg: D7300 >> 6s Gen 3 even if it is from Mediatek !

EU kills Android bootloader unlock starting August 1 Join - @tech_zone40
RED’s Cybersecurity Shift: What’s Actually Changing
In 2022, a new set of rules (delegated act 2022/30) brought cybersecurity front and center.
As of August 2025, manufacturers selling devices in the EU need to:
Block the installation of unauthorized software
Use Secure Boot (or similar) to verify firmware authenticity
Ensure only signed and approved ROMs can run
The directive doesn’t name “bootloaders” specifically, but its demand for software authenticity basically makes bootloader unlocking—at least in its current form—a thing of the past
Samsung’s Early Move: A Sign for the Whole Market
Samsung’s decision to disable bootloader unlocking in OneUI 8 wasn’t random. It was a strategic move, anticipating RED’s enforcement. Other manufacturers—Xiaomi, Google, and beyond—will need to follow to keep their devices certified for sale in Europe.
The pressure is on to:
Maintain CE certification
Guarantee firmware can’t be tampered with
Realign policies to meet RED’s cybersecurity demands
Failing to comply isn’t an option for any brand that wants to keep a foothold in the EU market.
