The default launcher by itself doesn't support adding icon packs through the direct customization
But, through the 'My Theme' option within settings, you can actually download and add third-party icons
However, there is no option to force the icons for unsupported apps
It's under wallpapers and personalization, here's where you can find it
There's also 'Themes' here if you want to add any and save them
The icon change does not break animations, it's still the same
Even if you use, it completely breaks how they look in certain places like recents

Yes for first time setup you do have to delete some apps, disable notifications and permissions for some 1st party apps, not randomly download suggested apps, etc

Maybe OneUI 8 stable rollout is scheduled for early September, which is just absurd as development was already finished back in June.
