Apple Reportedly Developing Its Own Custom Silicon for AI Servers

Apple is said to be developing its own AI server processor using TSMC's 3nm process, targeting mass production by the second half of 2025.

Apple has ambitious plans to design its own artificial intelligence server processor. The user, who claims to have 25 years of experience in the integrated circuit industry, including work on Intel's Pentium processors, suggests this processor will be manufactured using TSMC's ‌3nm‌ node.

TSMC is a vital partner for Apple, manufacturing all of its custom silicon chips. The chipmaker's ‌3nm‌ technology is one of the most advanced semiconductor processes available, offering significant improvements in performance and energy efficiency over the previous 5nm and 7nm nodes.

It's official: The US will ban TikTok if it doesn't disconnect from China

👉The United States government has passed a law forcing TikTok’s owners to sell the platform or face a national ban.
👉TikTok will need to be sold in nine months, although the US can extend this period by three months.
👉This law will likely face First Amendment scrutiny, which could delay the ban or even cancel it.

United States President Joe Biden today signed a bill that forces TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, to sell the popular video-sharing platform within nine months. If the sale doesn’t happen, TikTok will be banned across the entire US.

Google is feeling pretty pumped about a new way of showing you ads on YouTube.

👉Google says its experiment with “pause ads” on YouTube has yielded some very positive results.
👉The company calls it “a new non-interruptive ad format.”
👉At present, YouTube is testing pause ads on smart TVs.

In Alphabet’s latest earnings call, Google’s Philipp Schindler shared positive results of an ad experiment the company has been running on YouTube.

“In Q1, we saw strong traction from the introduction of a pause ads pilot on connected TVs, a new non-interruptive ad format that appears when users pause their organic content,” Schindler noted.

Apple Watch Ultra to Get 'Almost No' Hardware Upgrades This Year

Just over six months ago, Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the likelihood of a new Apple Watch Ultra being released in 2024 was decreasing but it now sounds like there will be an Apple Watch Ultra 3 this year after all.

Kuo said that while the Apple Watch Ultra will be updated this year, the new model will have "almost no" hardware upgrades compared to the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Kuo did not reveal any specific changes planned for the Apple Watch Ultra 3, which will presumably launch in September.
