Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS), scientists have developed a programmable metafluid, or "intelligent" liquid, with adjustable properties such as springiness, optical characteristics, viscosity, and the ability to transition between Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids. This first-of-its-kind metafluid uses a suspension of small, elastomer spheres that react to pressure, causing significant changes in the fluid's behaviour.
