Xiaomi has started blocking third-party launchers like Niagara. Try setting one as default, and you get a dramatic warning about “data leaks,” “battery drain,” and other doomsday scenarios. Suddenly, switching your launcher is a national security risk.
However, users were easily able to bypass this grand “security feature” through a simple app from the Play Store. Just open Activity Launcher, tap a hidden setting, and voila — third-party launcher is back like nothing happened.
So much for “security,” but in reality, just an annoying pop-up with zero actual protection. That's Xiaomi

Xiaomi No Longer Cares About India, Shifts Focus to Europe
Xiaomi HQ (China) has decided that India market is not their focus anymore & they will instead focus on European & other South Asian markets.
In 2018, India was Xiaomi’s 2nd largest market, contributing 45% of its total global sales. But now, India no longer ranks among Xiaomi’s top 5 markets across the 100+ countries it operates in, with its contribution to total sales falling to a single-digit percentage in 2025.
"India-specific product development has ceased (Xiaomi 15 Civi is cancelled for India), with a focus only on global products. Xiaomi India's plans to launch its expensive foldable phones, are delayed by the group. Xiaomi global stopped plans to launch new categories like washing machines and ACs in India. Testing for these products, including refrigerators, had already been completed, and the company was in talks for their introduction,” the executive said.

Xiaomi COO claimed in August that "Xiaomi is focused on becoming a “larger ecosystem brand” and moving beyond phones into a high-tech connected ecosystem."
So a YouTuber decided to dig deeper on their website.
• 4 major categories with 26 sub-categories and 195 products listed.
• Out of 146 products, 71 are out of stock – that’s nearly half (49%) of the entire portfolio unavailable.
• 4 categories are completely empty, and 14 categories have only 1–2 products on sale.
• Only 2 Xiaomi phones are on sale, including last year's 14 CIVI. Flagship Xiaomi 15 Ultra has been OOS for months.
• Tablets are the only active focused area.
• Despite the COO mentioning home appliances, products like Smart Air Fryer & Garment Steamer are missing.
• No laptops, no new Mi Bands, and none of the latest launches from China are available in India.
Their only real success lately? The entry-level cheap Redmi 14C. The leadership seems more focused on creating a rosy picture in the media rather than fixing the ground reality.

I thought Samsung is wild for building tanks for the army in South Korea but Xiaomi is even more wild as it even makes underwear and bidets for the China maket.
