"Hermes represents Logos, or, the divine proportion of Father Zeus. He travels between realms and upholds the cosmic order embodied within his father, and therefore he is a messenger and herald of Zeus.

Through Hermes’ son Pan we can see that the vital masculine energy of the Heavens flows from Zeus and fully permeates material nature. This is why Pan is associated with fertility and the phallus, and also why he is half man and half goat (a satyr).

With Zeus being the epitome of Wisdom, Order, Justice, and Vitality, we can see why he has so many lovers in the myths, as this is illustrating his pervasiveness as the King of the Heavens who links everything back to the Celestial Spheres and roots nature within Him. Through the intermediaries of his son Hermes and his grandson Pan, we can see that he even connects lower material nature to Celestial Order.
