BALLAD OF THE GOODLY FERE

By Ezra Pound

(Simon Zelotes speaketh it somewhile after the Crucifixion)

"Ha' we lost the goodliest fere o' all
For the priests and the gallows tree?
Aye lover he was of brawny men,
O' ships and the open sea.

When they came wi' a host to take Our Man
His smile was good to see,
"First let these go!" quo' our Goodly Fere,
"Or I'll see ye damned," says he.

Aye he sent us out through the crossed high spears
And the scorn of his laugh rang free,
"Why took ye not me when I walked about
Alone in the town?" says he.

Oh we drunk his "Hale" in the good red wine
When we last made company,
No capon priest was the Goodly Fere
But a man o' men was he.

I ha' seen him drive a hundred men
Wi' a bundle o' cords swung free,
That they took the high and holy house
For their pawn and treasury."

"They'll no' get him a' in a book I think
Though they write it cunningly;
No mouse of the scrolls was the Goodly Fere
But aye loved the open sea.

If they think they ha' snared our Goodly Fere
They are fools to the last degree.
"I'll go to the feast," quo' our Goodly Fere,
"Though I go to the gallows tree."

"Ye ha' seen me heal the lame and blind,
And wake the dead," says he,
"Ye shall see one thing to master all:
'Tis how a brave man dies on the tree."

A son of God was the Goodly Fere
That bade us his brothers be.
I ha' seen him cow a thousand men.
I have seen him upon the tree."

"He cried no cry when they drave the nails
And the blood gushed hot and free,
The hounds of the crimson sky gave tongue
But never a cry cried he.

I ha' seen him cow a thousand men
On the hills o' Galilee,
They whined as he walked out calm between,
Wi' his eyes like the grey o' the sea,

Like the sea that brooks no voyaging
With the winds unleashed and free,
Like the sea that he cowed at Genseret
Wi' twey words spoke' suddently.

A master of men was the Goodly Fere,
A mate of the wind and sea,
If they think they ha' slain our Goodly Fere
They are fools eternally.

I ha' seen him eat o' the honey-comb
Sin' they nailed him to the tree."

RIP Ezra!

"There are just some things you don't understand. Revolutions are dreamt up by intellectuals, but their aims are so unrealistic that they'll steep to drastic measures. Following the revolution, the worthy passions for rebirth are swallowed up by bureaucracy and mediocrity. Intellectuals hate this and withdraw from society and politics and become recluses!

I'm not as impatient as you are, I'm willing to wait for humanity to learn and grow.

That's our purpose. We have to show the world the light in the human heart."
Cliff jumping is one of my favorite hobbies. Here's the last cenote I went to in the Yucatan Pensulia 😍

Back in 2017, Mérida was beyond a rising destination, but it was a far cry from the popularity of places like Cancun and Puerto Vallarta.

Mérida is the doorway to the Yucatan. This centuries-old colonial city was an important stronghold for the Mayan people, as well as the Spanish, who built over that history and started their own. Dating back between 1562 and 1599, the Catedral de Mérida, the oldest church in the continental Americas, was built here. It sits just off the Plaza Grande. But the Yucatan's history stretches back even further — millions of years — as it was just off the shores of the peninsula where the asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs struck.

Today, Mérida is a vibrant, dynamic destination peppered with plazas and veined with broad, tree-lined boulevards like Paseo de Montejo. A trip to Mérida should begin here, as it's one of the most prominent and important avenues in the city. Inspired by the Champs-Elysees, it features several roundabouts and is flanked by ornately decorated 19th-century mansions.

Some of the city's best museums, including the Museum of Anthropology and Casa Museo Quinta Montes Molina, can be found here. Many of the homes are open for history tours as well.

Celestial Happenings
🌟

The planets are not just above our heads - they are everywhere. There is no planet that is static. Even our Sun is not ultimately static.

We have to understand that there is relative motion amongst planets, and we are relatively influenced by them. The gravitational pull of planets has an influence on us.

The whole solar system is moving and rushing towards some huge star. The light of this star has not yet reached us, but astronomers tell us that it is eighty million times larger and brighter than our Sun.

🌟

We have been blessed to live during the time of some very impactful celestial events. The most significant was the Lion's Gate Portal, which led us into the ending of the Vedic calandrer and lunar cycle.

The Lion's Gate Portal was activated by the rising of the star Sirius. This took place at the end of July and continued through the middle of August.

The star Sirius is often referred to as the “Spiritual Sun” and is sometimes considered to be a higher dimensional counterpart to our Sun. It plays a key role in the evolution of consciousness, spiritual awakening, and ascension.

The numerology of 8/8 and the Sun reaching the halfway point (or 15 degrees of the Leo) was the peak of Lion/Leo energy. Reaching this halfway mark also signifies the astrological midpoint between the Summer Solstice and the September Equinox. This is said to thin the veil between the realm of spirit and the “3D world."

The theory is that as Sirius rises, it acts as a key to unlock this information from the Atlanteans. It is not clear if this information is intuitively downloaded, but it is received by those who are open to it.

Leaning into this energy will instantly dissolve the ego's mental chatter as it opens your energy centers and attunes you to the higher spiritual knowledge and activating transmission of the Spiritual Sun, Sirius.

More recently, there was Janmashtami on September 6/7th. Janmashtami is the day celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna signifies Ananda (bliss, pure happiness). We express any happiness by celebration. So, Janmashtami is celebrating the birth of Bliss. It is the day when that (divine) joy becomes manifest.

There are two significant events taking place in the upcoming week, following the New Moon in Virgo on September 14th.

Kanya Sankranti on September 17th. There are twelve Sankranti days in a solar year, each marking the movement of the Sun between signs and the transition from one Vedic month to the next.

The Sun, as previously mentioned, represents the King, the soul, the government, the ego, the personality, and the vital force within us. Sankranti days offer us a golden opportunity to plan for the Vedic month ahead.

Ganesh Chathurti on September 18/19th. This is celebrated on Shukla Chathurthi, the 4th waxing moon (in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada). Ganesh Chathurthi is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Ganesha – "The Remover of Obstacles" in another name.

Victory would hold no value if it was obtained without toil, and the spoils of war though they be golden artifacts would be nothing more than hollow shells, worthless.

Therefore what manner of reward do you hope to attain without sweat? Are you still searching for shortcuts, for hacks? There are none. The Immortals would allow no such thing.

Isn't that which is superior to man by its very nature meant to challenge man? To elevate him. To allow the best there is to shine forth and leave behind the mediocre at best, multitude?

In that case, suffer today so that what seems like torture to mere mortals tomorrow be nothing more than frivolity to you.
