Poetry as Common Folklore, an essay by Arthur Powell, published by Arktos.
Arthur Powell ponders on the timeless essence of poetry, reflecting on its historical significance and its unparalleled power to capture the occidental soul.
I have been in somewhat of a creative drought lately. Something all poets, writers, and artists experience from time to time. It can be a frustrating desert of existence, where words stumble out instead of gliding gracefully onto the page. This drought though has given me pause to think about other poetry and more seriously about song lyrics as their modern-day inheritor of much of what poetry did for the previous age.
At the time of the First World War, poetry was both an elevated art and a common art. Men in the trenches shared poems with each other, some silly, some sweet, some sombre. Poetry has always been a form of common folklore. Deliverance of wisdom and history in...

The concept was see Zaheer speak of in Legend of Kora is the same as what we see in many world religions as well as in Star Wars with the Sith Lords.
Zaheer developed the ability of flight through the teachings of Guru Laghima, becoming the first airbender in four thousand years.

He was once a good friend of mine. One day, he asked me about a sword art of which he had heard, 'The musou no hitotachi.'
I told him, "It can only be witnessed when divine punishment is administered. It is the pinnacle of the raiden shogun’s skill – a symbol of ultimate power."
But he replied, "There must be one who can withstand it. There will always be those who dare to brave the lightning’s glow."
Then, the vision hunt decree arrived. People’s aspirations were stripped away as the raiden shogun began to construct her ideal of eternity.
While I was fleeing from place to place, I heard that my friend had challenged the vision hunters to a duel before the throne – a solemn yet brutal challenge.
The defeated faced divine punishment, while the victor would gain a second chance.
Perhaps he thought he, of all people, should make a stand. Coming face to face with the musou no hitotachi was all that he truly desired, after all.
When I arrived at tenshukaku, the duel was over. I heard his sentence of divine punishment - his severed blade hitting the ground.
Perhaps that was the glory he had yearned to witness.

Is it too much to ask, my dear
To be your only one
I want your heart and soul and more
The queen who reigns over you alone
Is it too much to ask
To own your world of fantasies
Your sleepless nights
May they be spent in thoughts of me
Make me the nightingale whose voice puts you to sleep
Make me the flower of your heart who you protect and keep
Passion that binds you to my love, even when we're distant
Desire that keeps your heart burning, may it set aflame
Love me until the ends of your days
Love me more if theres an afterlife as well
Devotion and dedication, thats all I ask
The kind of love that forever lasts
