In the Battle of the Trees, faeries wage war against northern Wales.
The faeries' army includes many monsters, such as a huge black toad with a hundred claws, a gigantic monster with a hundred heads, and a speckled serpent whose back contains a hundred tortured souls.
The bard Taliesin supposedly witnessed it, and one of the poems of "The Book of Taliesin" describes the battle.

"Hermes represents Logos, or the divine proportion of Father Zeus. He travels between realms and upholds the cosmic order embodied within his father, and therefore, he is a messenger and herald of Zeus.
Through Hermes’ son Pan, we can see that the vital masculine energy of the Heavens flows from Zeus and fully permeates material nature. This is why Pan is associated with fertility and the phallus, and also why he is half man and half goat (a satyr).
Zeus being the epitome of Wisdom, Order, Justice, and Vitality, we see why he has many lovers in the myths. Yhis is illustrating his pervasiveness as the King of the Heavens who links everything back to the Celestial Spheres and roots nature within Him.
Through his son Hermes and grandson Pan, we can see that he even connects material nature to Celestial Order. We see this in the activities of Pan, frolicking in the woods, chasing nymphs, and playing his flute—the tune to which nature dances."
