Week 8 & 9 at the Kifiya AI Mastery Training Program is all About the Trainees vs. Fraudsters!
The Kifiya AI Mastery trainees are getting to fraud detection! Over the next two weeks, they'll learn to spot fake transactions in e-commerce and banking; cleaning data, and building fraud-catching AI models.
They'll also deploy their models with Flask and Docker and create real-time dashboards to track fraud. By the end, they'll be pros at stopping fraud and turning data into action.
The fintech world better get ready; the trainees are about to level up! 🤗🤗

Day 1 of the Ethiopian Data Science Regional Hackathon 2025 – Off to a Strong Start!
We started the day by welcoming an incredible group of participants from diverse background fields: healthcare, construction, IT, and engineering, highlighting the immense opportunities in this field.
🛰 The Challenge: Enhancing Cubesat Image Processing
Cubesats make space observation more accessible, but they come with challenges: blurry, noisy, or missing data due to limited power and bandwidth. The task is to optimize image quality while maintaining processing speed. How do we ensure satellites send accurate, valuable data without delays? That’s what our participants are solving!

After the excitement of Day 1, Day 2 was all about deep focus. Teams locked into their virtual machines, collaborating to refine satellite images and optimize data quality. The room was so quiet you could hear an algorithm run until lunchtime provided a much-needed break to recharge.
With sharp minds, and seamless teamwork, participants are making a progress. Day 3, we are ready for you!

Where Are They Now? Meet Fanuel Abebe: a journey after 10 Academy's Intensive Training Program.
Today, we’re highlighting Fanuel’s journey! Before 10 Academy, Fanuel felt like he wasn’t keeping up with the fast-changing tech world. After completing the training, he had an opportunity to land a remote role with a US-based security company; armed with problem-solving skills, resilience, and a mindset for innovation.
His biggest lesson from the training is "I don’t give up quickly anymore. I keep pushing until I find a solution."
For anyone aspiring to grow in tech (AI or not), Fanuel’s advice is simple: Take the step, challenge yourself, and discover what you're capable of!
