At our recent 10 Academy AI Discussion Meetup in Addis Ababa, we explored a big question: Will AI deepen inequality or help bridge the gap?
Participants shared powerful insights, especially when asked what they’d do if they were decision-makers:
“I’d build AI centers in every university.”
“I’d invest in local (African) data and models built for us”
“I’d prioritize awareness, education, and policy; because the future belongs to those who understand and use AI responsibly.”
AI’s potential is massive, but so is our responsibility to shape how it impacts our communities.
The discussion reminded us that the divide isn’t just digital, it’s about mindset, vision, and action.
