두산에너빌리티는 북미 시장의 수주 가능성이 높아지면서 생산능력 확대를 서두르고 있다. 우선 가스터빈은 미국 빅테크의 데이터센터향 수주가 점쳐진다. 빅테크 업체들이 데이터센터를 구축하려면 필요 전력의 3~4배 규모의 발전 설비를 구축해 전력 안정성을 확보해야 한다.
대형 가스터빈을 만들 수 있는 제너럴일렉트릭(GE)과 지멘스 등의 생산능력이 포화 상태에 달해 데이터센터 구축에 필요한 가스터빈을 확보해야 하는 빅테크들은 두산에너빌리티의 제품을 구입하는 것을 적극 검토하고 있다.
