Bold leadership takes conviction and Washington County Republican Chair Danielle Goodrich has shown exactly that. Under her direction, the Washington County Republican Executive Committee has taken decisive action on key conservative principles through a series of strong, thoughtful resolutions.
From protecting the integrity of Republican primaries, to defending true constitutional carry, to ensuring transparency in local elections and standing up for free-market healthcare, this is the kind of leadership that refuses to shy away from hard issues.
It’s refreshing to see local leaders not only talking about principles but acting on them with courage and clarity. Washington County is setting an example of what it looks like to lead with purpose and conviction.
👏 Well done to Chair Goodrich and the Washington County Republican Party for reminding Tennessee what gutsy, grounded leadership looks like. We need more of this in Tennessee and would encourage the county parties across the state to uphold these same conservative constitutional positions.

Jeremy Faison’s swipe at Thomas Massie perfectly sums up what’s broken in the GOP establishment. He calls conviction “isolation.” I call it integrity.
Massie votes the Constitution because he believes in it, not because it’s easy. That’s the kind of courage the Founders praised and the conservative movement was built on.
Faison wants Congress to “govern from the center.” The Founders warned us about leaders who trade virtue for political convenience —and here we are being lectured on effective government by a man that pantsed a referee in a high school gym.

Nothing says “transparency” quite like three feel-good words duct-taped together into a political marketing slogan. Choose the phrasing carefully… it’s Education Freedom Scholarships, not vouchers.
Because “vouchers”—or school stamps—is taxpayer money redistributed and funneled into private institutions.
But by all means, don’t call it what it is. Call it something comforting. Something with “freedom” in it. Because if you wrap a policy in a warm, positive word, apparently it stops being the policy.

Caps were the compromise that got Tennessee’s voucher bill passed. Now Speaker Cameron Sexton wants them gone before year one even ends.
Other states show what comes next: caps lifted, costs explode 3–10x, and most vouchers go to families already in private schools. Arizona. Florida. Ohio. Indiana. Same playbook.

Public schools have full funding, staffing, and state oversight—and still, only one in three students in Director Chris Malone’s district is college or career ready.

Over the past week TN lawmakers have been working to partner to put a TPUSA chapter, another national influence, in every high school. Let’s pause.
The same lawmakers that stood by during COVID, masking & quarantining our kids, closed businesses & told hundreds of thousands of Tennesseans they were non-essential, then go on to shame Tennesseans for not getting the shot, are now concerned with raising up Charlie Kirk’s? 🤔
TN already struggles with outside money & centralized political influence. Now add TPUSA’s endorsement of Marsha, and the picture sharpens. If TPUSA chapters are embedded in every high school, who exactly will these students and their families be mobilized to serve?
Could the interest be a power grab designed to bring our kids under the influence of establishment “leaders” to not only get themselves elected but securing themselves a platform to shape the minds of the next generation of leaders?
Consolidating power cuts both ways.
Pray for the hearts & minds of the next generation.

Christmas reminds us that freedom is not something we manufacture or defend on our own. It is something first given. With Christmas comes a profound truth: True liberty does not begin in government—it begins in Christ.
Before liberty was ever debated in legislative chambers, it was declared at the cross. Before freedom was ever written into the founding documents or claimed by nations, it was spoken by a Savior who came to set captives free from burdens we were never meant to carry. He offered hearts freedom from tyranny, sin, fear, & hopelessness. This is the foundation upon which all lasting freedom stands.
Our work is rooted in the belief that a free people must first be a people anchored in truth, humility,& faith. A society that forgets God will eventually forget freedom.
This Christmas we pray that you are reminded that the greatest gift was not policy, power, or protection, but God.
May His presence renew your strength, steady your heart,& remind you that you are deeply known & deeply loved.

As we step into 2026, one truth remains:
Liberty does not sustain itself.
It requires citizens who are paying attention, asking questions, showing up, and refusing to outsource responsibility for their communities, schools, and state.
TN doesn’t need louder national voices — it needs engaged Tennesseans. Not political brands. Not outside money. Not social-media outrage. Just neighbors who understand that self-government only works when people actually govern.
Right now, confusion & division are being used to weaken us. When citizens are distracted or discouraged, power quietly shifts away from the people who should hold it. That’s not an accident — and it’s why local involvement matters more than ever.
Tennessee Stands exists for one reason: To keep power close to home and equip citizens to protect what belongs to them.
This new year isn’t about waiting for better leaders. It’s about becoming better citizens.
Because freedom isn’t inherited — it’s maintained.
Let’s get to work, Tennessee. God speed.

History doesn’t lose freedom all at once — it loses it when citizens trade responsibility for comfort. That’s where we are now. But history also shows something else: renewal is possible.
Real renewal never starts in Washington. It starts when people recover their moral clarity, re-engage their communities, and take responsibility for the places they actually live. Families get stronger. Churches get louder. Neighbors get involved. Local government becomes accountable again.
In a couple weeks, Tennessee’s legislative session begins. That’s where this renewal either takes root or stalls — in the laws that shape our schools, our rights, and our communities.
This is the year to show up.
Read the bills.
Call your legislators.
Testify.
Support good candidates.
Get involved locally.
Freedom is renewed when ordinary people step back into the arena.
Session is coming.
The question is whether we will.

Tennessee’s voucher program is doing exactly what critics warned it would do. 🙋🏻♂️
Fewer than 1 in 10 eligible families even applied, nearly a third of approved vouchers went unused, and most recipients didn’t come from failing public schools. Tuition is higher than the voucher, making private education unaffordable to the qualifying families, and students using vouchers are posting lower test scores and weaker academic growth than their public-school peers. And now lawmakers want to expand it statewide. What we’re headed in the coming years isn’t “Education Freedom,” but a system where every option is government-funded, government-regulated, and independent schools disappear. We were told vouchers would fix education — instead it’s just another subsidy for families who already had options.
