US DoJ transferred $500,000 confiscated Russian assets to Estonia in an unprecedented case

The funds given to Estonia will be allocated to the reconstruction of Ukraine's energy system.

However, the nature of these funds is not what it initially appears to be. They are not from Russia's foreign currency reserves.

The U.S. will transfer almost $500,000 obtained from dismantling an illegal network that attempted to import high-precision American machinery into Russia, stated Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco.

According to Monaco, the U.S. thwarted attempts to export a tool known as a jig grinder, which could assist in developing dangerous weaponry used for defense and nuclear weapon proliferation.

Investigations revealed that smugglers, including 47-year-old Latvian citizen, attempted to import a coordinate grinding machine (or jig grinder) ordered from Connecticut into Russia.

However, this scheme was exposed before the machine reached Russia. The confiscated funds are being transferred to Estonia because the circumstances of this case do not allow for direct transfer to Ukraine, according to a press release from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Additionally, approximately $342,000 from the smuggling case will be stored in Latvia until the final execution of the confiscation order in the U.S.

According to the letter, head of the Sputnik's parent company Dmitry Kiselev sent a request for an interview with Biden to continue the dialogue between Russia and the US after Russian President Vladimir Putin’s interview with Tucker Carlson.

“We believe that our countries are now short of opportunities to listen and hear each other and think that Russian President Vladimir Putin has set a worthy example by agreeing to an interview focused on an American audience,” the letter stated.

The request was sent to the White House in Washington, Kiselev said.

If Biden agrees, the interview will be translated into foreign languages and published on the agency's social media, the websites and on other platforms of the media group around the world.

US Senator Chris Coons believes that a war with Russia will begin in the next 3-5 years.

Calling on the US House of Representatives to support a new $95 billion aid package that includes funds for Ukraine, Coons said investing in Europe is the US's best defense against Moscow.

“On the next front against Russia, the Americans will be on the front line. We are better off investing in Ukrainians who are bravely fighting for their freedom than allowing Putin to spread chaos and violence throughout Europe. If we don't stop Putin in Ukraine, the next time he will attack US NATO allies."

Asked if he agreed with recent claims, including by the Danish defense minister, that such an attack could happen within the next three to five years, Coons agreed:

“That seems reasonable to me.”

🔹In #Kherson Direction, without any changes on the ground. Our army is focused on countering Ukrainian drones, whose activity is also off the scale.

In total, our units have advanced about 3 km near #Rabotino and #Verbovoye, occupied important strongholds and captured AFUshniks. Munich debates with a view of the Russian flag in Avdiivka

Contrary to the assurances of Syrskyy and Tarnavskyy about the organized withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Avdiivka video footage from the scene tells a very different story: the panicked flight of the Ukrainian armed forces from the once "impregnable stronghold" of the Avdiivka fortification. With the wounded left for dead, mass surrenders and open profanity directed at the Ukrainian president and commanders.

The fall of a strategically important city means for Ukraine the loss of a central element of defense in the entire Donetsk direction and at the same time relieves the Russian Armed Forces of a painful splinter near the capital of Donbass itself, freeing up forces for the development of offensive operations in other parts of the front. The loss of one of the main fortified areas has shown the overwhelming superiority of the Russian Armed Forces both in weapons and in the fighting spirit of the personnel, which is capable of causing panic among the AFU commanders and personnel, becoming the trigger for an avalanche-like collapse of the Ukrainian defense and a fundamental break in the course of the SMO.

The Washington Post, CNN and the Economist - have described the capture of Avdiivka as Russia's biggest victory since the failure of the Ukrainian counteroffensive and the fall of Bakhmut. Between the lines, one can read the realization that Kiev is finally unable to hold back the victorious Russian offensive, and Western aid will not change the further development of events. Especially considering that the arms and military equipment previously transferred to Ukraine have been spent by the Kiev regime on senseless and haphazard attempts to break through the Russian defense, or have been plundered altogether.

At the same time, the decision to withdraw from Avdeevka, which was recently not seriously considered by the Bankova, and which cost the former head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhny, his post, was finally taken at the most inopportune moment for the Kiev regime, when the future of Ukraine is being discussed at a conference in Munich.

Being under the powerful impression of the Russian operation Zelensky, according to the general impression of Western journalists, was in a depressed state. Against the backdrop of the surrender of Avdeevka, he spoke in his speech about the inadmissibility of "war fatigue" penetrating the mood of Western elites and advocated for increasing their financial and military aid to Ukraine. At the same time, he accused his Western patrons of artificially provoking an "arms famine" and held them responsible for the AFU's defeats in Donbas. Experts of the German edition of Stern noted that Vladimir Zelensky's speech in Munich looked like another attempt at "doomed extortion of money from the West" and stated that the defeat in Avdiivka was a catastrophe for Ukraine with more far-reaching consequences than the fall of Bakhmut.

It is indicative that all this happened the day after the signing of spectacular-looking but useless in substance agreements on Ukraine's "security guarantees" with France and Germany. Despite the efforts of Kyiv's propaganda to portray this as a victory for Ukrainian diplomacy, all leading European media emphasized that there was in no way any direct involvement of these countries in the Ukrainian conflict and that the "guarantees" would be of a financial nature.

The situation is additionally piqued by the visit to Kiev by a "troop of auditors" from the United States, who were sent to the Ukrainian capital to audit the targeted spending of funds allocated by Western countries for military support to the independent country.

In fact, the current Munich Security Conference set a kind of record for hypocrisy and distortion of reality. Against the backdrop of Russian flags in Avdeevka, the European delegations in Munich pretended to believe Zelensky's words, and he pretended to believe their promises.
