DAVOS, Switzerland, Jan 19 (Reuters) - Global bank and exchange chiefs got insight on cybersecurity and resilience from the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation's director during a private session in Davos this week.
Christopher Wray addressed top bankers at the meeting at the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual gathering of industry leaders, five sources who attended the meeting said.
The financial services executives also compared notes on economic risks, financial stability and sustainability.

WEF Launches ‘Metaverse’ Initiative, Predicts Digital Lives Will Become ‘More Meaningful to Us Than Our Physical Lives’
The WEF and major corporations last month launched its “Defining and Building the Metaverse” initiative, with corporate stakeholders jockeying for a role in defining, developing — and profiting — from the technology.
As the initiative’s name implies, its stakeholders are still in the process of defining exactly what the term “metaverse” means.
However, according to the WEF, in part, the metaverse involves a moment “at which our digital lives — our online identities, experiences, relationships, and assets — become more meaningful to us than our physical lives.”
“To us, the priority is to help create a world in which we can give kids all the benefits of the metaverse — one with immersive experiences, creativity and self-expression at its core — in a way that is also safe, protects their rights and promotes their well-being.”

Ray Kurzweil, director of engineering at Google, is a noted inventor and futurist who has some big ideas about the future of humans.
In the future, humans are going to be artificially intelligent.
That's the prediction of Ray Kurzweil, director of engineering at Google (GOOGL), who spoke Wednesday at the Exponential Finance conference in New York.
Kurzweil predicts that humans will become hybrids in the 2030s. That means our brains will be able to connect directly to the cloud, where there will be thousands of computers, and those computers will augment our existing intelligence. He said the brain will connect via nanobots -- tiny robots made from DNA strands.
"Our thinking then will be a hybrid of biological and non-biological thinking," he said.

A new death levy being considered by the Government could cost grieving widows and widowers an extra £13,000 in tax, Wealth & Personal Finance figures reveal.
Last month, HM Revenue & Customs published proposals to start taxing hundreds of thousands of inherited pension pots for the first time. The reforms would scrap the ability to inherit a pension pot tax free and could come into force as early as next April.
