I went to Glastonbury a few times in the 90s and 2000s, and while I saw some amazing performances by The Prodigy, Sinead O'Connor, De La Soul and loads more, there was one year when I didn't really care for any of the bands, but still went.

And I had the most brilliant time doing everything else at the festival apart from watching the artists - drumming in the stone circle for hours; thousands of random funny conversations; meeting new and old friends; having a go at lots of stuff; wandering the many stalls; eating delicious food, and just hanging out and watching it all, sometimes doing absolutely nothing.

Sometimes a festival can be about bringing people together who might not ordinarily meet, drawn by a common belief that deeply underlies the ability to connect in truth and honesty.
Many of our guests last year didn't even come down to the main event area, such a good time were they having in their camping spaces with 'random' neighbours which soon became great friends.

They will meet up again at this year's event on May Bank Holiday in the Lake District, as will those who came by themselves last year after their mates dropped out, and they too will be looking forward to meeting old friends and new this time.

If you were on those beautiful freedom marches during 2020-22, you will already know the spirit and vibe that we created with our festival last year - that real sense of shared purpose and togetherness, freedom in commnunity and love - it was truly inspiring and spirit-lifting!

Russell Brand has been charged with rape, indecent assault and sexual assault between 1999 and 2005.

The charges relate to four separate women.

The Metropolitan Police said it is alleged that:

In 1999 a woman was raped in the Bournemouth area.

In 2001 a woman was indecently assaulted in the Westminster area of London.

In 2004 a woman was orally raped and sexually assaulted in the Westminster area of London.

Between 2004 and 2005, a woman was sexually assaulted in the Westminster area of London.
