Covid-19 has spotlighted the promise and peril of ‘transhumanism,’ the idea of using technology to overcome sickness, aging and death. #transhumanism

Transhumanists, many of them associated with nonprofits and think tanks like Humanity Plus and the Extropy Institute, have long been driven by the fear that our entire species could be wiped out by nuclear war, asteroid collision, technological accident—or a pandemic. In March, as the coronavirus was spreading around the world, the science writer Tom Chivers observed that it proves the need for technological protection against such existential threats: “Humans could be around for a billion years, or more, if we don’t screw it up. Coronavirus won’t be the thing that kills us all, but it’s a bloody good illustration of how something could,” he wrote in the online magazine UnHerd.

People have always feared death and dreamed of escaping it. But until now, that hope has been formulated in religious terms. Transhumanism promises that death can be conquered physically, not just spiritually; and the movement has the support of people with the financial resources to make it happen, if anyone can. Jeff Bezos, Peter Thiel and Elon Musk are among the Silicon Valley moguls who have invested in life-extension research. In 2013, Google entered the field by launching the biotech firm Calico, short for California Life Company.

The #chatbot may correspond to a past or present entity (or version thereof), such as a friend, a relative, fictional character or random entity or even to themselves. Implying the living person could train a digital replacement in the event of their death.

Many individuals have turned their masks into fashion items. I wonder how many wear the same mask day after day without washing them.

If masks are unwashed then they become breeding grounds for bacteria, fungi and viruses. If they are washed then they become even more useless (if that is possible) than they were when new. The enthusiasm for ‘fashion’ masks, which match other items of clothing, is rising.

But wearing a fashionable mask is akin to a slave painting their chains to look pretty.

The False Gods of Genetics and “Gene Therapy”

One of the topics we have exposed over the years here at Health Impact News is the false science of “genetics” research and the promise of new drugs based on such research.

This is simply a continuation of the field of “eugenics” made popular in the late 1920s and early 1930s here in the U.S., exported to Germany prior to WWII, and then brought back to the U.S. and repackaged.

Infections Decline in the Unvaccinated as They Surge in the Vaccinated – Demolishing the Argument for Vaccinating Children and Young People

I reported last week on the striking fact that, according to data from the ZOE Covid Symptom study, new symptomatic daily infections appeared to be plateauing in the unvaccinated while they were surging in the vaccinated. The trend has continued since then, with infections now entering decline in the unvaccinated while those in the vaccinated (with at least one dose) continue to surge (see graph above).
