Finally, if that group does well, then Phase 3 goes forward to test even more people in hospitals with their consent. If issues are found during any of these phases, the drug must be perfected.

A true story.

After work today, I thought I'd go for a pint and get the Light paper out into a few hands in the local, followed by a mooch up Town Street, nip in Morribobs for some carrots for the rabbits, and feed the pigeons, as I do most days.
On journeying around the shop I notice more faces than usual. I don't know the faces... I just notice them, because I can see them. No masks.
So, I leave Morribobs, and proceed to my regular pigeon feeding post, sat on a wall, let out my familiar whistle to call my feathered friends.
I see a face I recognise, from Morribobs.
"Hiya mate, I noticed you didn't have a mask on in there... it's nice to see a face!" He replies with a chuckle "tell me about it!"
I offer him a free paper, which he takes and walks away.
I whistle again and smile as the pleasant site of 30+ pigeons descend on me for their tea.
I hear a voice behind me. "Excuse me mate, where'd you get these from?"
Clearly taken aback by never seeing a paper of this kind, I explain what the Light is. He asks how to get it online and I offer to drop one off for him whenever I get my hands on them.
We shake hands, exchange names and part ways.
I feel elated. It's always nice to meet someone new, even better when you reach them on a personal level.
Then, another man passes by me and says "There's enough shit 'round here without you feeding them!"
Two complete opposite ends of the spectrum, in the space of 30 seconds!
I hold back from apologising for the pigeons, that their sanitation as a species is not up to scratch, and that they haven't managed to invent pigeon pisspots and shithouses.
Instead, I tell him "They have souls mate, they have as much right to be here as you."
He shook his head, put on a mask, and walked into a pub, alone.

I know what side of history I'd rather be on.
