The Global Crackdown On Parents Who Refuse Vaccines For Their Kids Is On

There’s a school of thought that refusing vaccines on behalf of your children amounts to child abuse, and that parents should be punished for their decision.

DE Lawmakers passed a law stating that parents need to prove they’ve vaccinated their kids against measles — or risk fines up to €2,500 (about $2,750). Unvaccinated children also risk losing their places in school.

IT Italy’s parliament passed a law that makes 10 childhood vaccinations mandatory for kids up to age 16, and requires parents to prove their children are immunised before entering school or else face a €500 (about $560) noncompliance fine. And kids who aren’t vaccinated are being told not to come to school.

FR In France, the health ministry made 11 vaccines — up from the current three (diphtheria, tetanus, and polio) — mandatory for children, though there’s no talk of a fine yet.

Further afield, New South Wales, Australia, passed “no jab, no play” legislation in September 2017: The law bans unvaccinated kids from preschool and day care and fine the directors of schools that admit un-immunized children $5,500 Australian dollars ($4,400).

Japan halts use of 1.63 million Moderna vaccine doses over contamination

The health ministry said Thursday that foreign materials were found in some portions of unused doses of Moderna Inc.’s COVID-19 vaccine and the use of around 1.63 million doses manufactured in the same production line has been suspended as a precaution.

🇫🇷💉 FRENCH GOVERNMENT TO OPEN 7,000 VACCINATION CENTERS IN SCHOOLS

👉🏻 The French government has announced that it will massively vaccinate children.

🔎 Thus it was announced that from September onwards nearly 7000 vaccination centers will be opened directly in schools in order to allow the vaccination of children

👧🏼 In addition, the government has stated that minors could be vaccinated without the consent of their parents.

📲 In parallel to this law, the government has conducted a huge influence campaign via partnerships with influencers appreciated by children.

📺 Similarly, advertising spots tell young children that they must get vaccinated if they don't want to be responsible for their grandparents' deaths by infecting them.

⚖️ As a reminder, if parents refuse to vaccinate their children they could be prosecuted for violating "legal obligations that compromise the health, morals or education" of their child.

📌 They will risk two years in prison and a fine of 30,000 euros.

Love the idea of a universal basic income? Be careful what you wish for

What’s needed is not the arbitrary adoption of UBI, but an entirely different conversation about what a welfare state is for. As David Lammy MP said, after the Grenfell Tower disaster: “This is about whether the welfare state is just about schools and hospitals or whether it is about a safety net.” The conversation, in light of UBI, could go even further: it’s possible for the welfare state not just to act as a safety net, but as a tool for all of us to do less work and spend more time with our loved ones, pursuing personal interests or engaging in our communities.
