Lebanon Can’t Dictate Terms in Sea Border Talks with Israel, Says Minister
Israel is ready to renew efforts to solve its dispute with Lebanon over the delineation of their territorial waters in the Mediterranean, but it will not accept that Beirut dictates the terms of the negotiation, its energy minister said on Tuesday.
Israel already pumps gas from huge offshore fields. Lebanon, which has yet to find commercial gas reserves in its own waters, is facing its worst economic crisis since its 1975-1990 civil war.
“We share a gas field and have to find a solution on how to use it so that each side will have its share of it in a fair way,” Elharrar said.

When, early on in the fake pandemic, it was announced that the Government wanted retired doctors to help out while younger doctors hid underneath their desks, I wrote to the General Medical Council to offer my name. I wasn’t impressed by the scare stories but I thought that with hospital departments closing and GPs as rare a sight as swallows in December, I could perhaps help a little with sore throats, wonky knees and so on. I thought that with GPs all hiding I could perhaps be useful.
Like most retired doctors I automatically lost my licence to practise when I hung up my stethoscope for the last time. The GMC does not usually allow retired GPs to remain licensed – thereby permanently depriving the country of thousands of capable and experienced physicians.

Wales makes Covid health pass compulsory for all over-18s attending large events or nightclubs
First Minister of Wales Mark Drakeford stood by the decision to proceed with the introduction of the Covid measure despite concerns from individuals within the nightclub industry that they are being “singled out” by the government.
Speaking as the new scheme comes into effect, Drakeford accepted that it could be “vulnerable to abuse,” with some faking lateral flow test results, but said he hopes citizens will abide by the rules to help the nation recover from the pandemic.
To prevent potential abuses, Wales' government is looking to pass a law that will make it illegal to fake a Covid test, although Welsh politicians have questioned how such a law would be enforced given that lateral flow tests are self-certified.

Britain's Brexit minister David Frost will use a speech in Lisbon on Tuesday to say there must be "significant change" to the agreement, known as the Northern Ireland protocol, a day before the EU is expected to issue its own proposals to break the impasse, AFP reported.
The protocol was negotiated as part of Britain's divorce from the EU to avoid a hard border between Ireland and NI by effectively keeping the province in the EU single market.
