One of the rustiest lies is that the number of people dying in the UK was far greater than normal last year – because of covid-19.
But, the evidence shows not only that the death rate in 2020 was not exceptional, but that the number of deaths from covid-19 was much the same as the death rates from the flu.
I have, since March 2020, been pointing out that the Government was officially advised that the coronavirus was no more deadly than the flu. The link to the official proof of that can be found here.
Oh, and one final thing.
The Government’s death figures rely largely on the positive results obtained through covid-19 tests. If someone dies within 60 or 28 days of a positive test for covid-19 then, according to the Government, they died of covid-19.

The UK is set to explore the potential of its own digital currency in a joint Taskforce between the Bank of England and HM Treasury which would allow a “new form of digital money issued by the BoE” and for use by “households and businesses.”
However, the pound reportedly exists as an almost entirely digital currency (97%) already, so why would a parallel form sit alongside it?
A cynic would suggest that using blockchain could make creating money untraceable – and who would benefit from this? Well there has been a lot of talk about cronyism of late.

Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove arrived in Israel on Monday on an unannounced visit, reportedly to discuss a vaccine passport arrangement.
Gove, who is one of the most senior ministers in Boris Johnson's government, is said to have been accompanied on the small BAe HS146 aircraft by Jonathan Van-Tam, one of England's deputy Chief Medical Officers to examine Israel's vaccination programme in person.
The plane was photographed approaching for a landing at Ben Gurion Airport by Haaretz English editor Avi Scharf, who is also a keen observer of flight traffic in the region.
Israel's vaccine rollout is one of the most successful in the world, with nearly 5M people — or 53.5% of the population — now fully vaccinated.
He will also be given a tour of testing facilities at Ben Gurion Airport "with a view to creating [a] flight corridor between Israel and the UK", Pfeffer said on Twitter.
