My formal statement on the Stand Up For Decency event coming up in Port Townsend Washington on 9/3 2-5pm at Pope Marine Park.

This event is a permitted event and we have been assured by law enforcement that they will do everything they can to insure the safety of the protest attendees.

There will be barricades and security at the entry points. Undesirable people will be expelled from the park. No sticks, bats, flag poles, or projectile weapons will be allowed into the park.

It was made perfectly clear that nobodies constitutional rights will be infringed upon during this event.

However, if you plan on attending, understand that Washington state has outlawed open carry of firearms at any political event with more than 10 people in attendance. With that said, concealed carry is permitted with the proper license.

The purpose of the event is laid out on all of the flyers. If people do show up to oppose this event, their position on the subject matter is without question.


The people opposing us will be showing the world that they:

Support men once again attempting to make women 2nd class citizens.

Support the idea that victims of rape, sexual abuse, and domestic violence should just “get over it” and not use that as a reason to not be ok with men staring at them while naked; completely ignoring their trauma.

Support bestiality from a mayor.

Completely oppose and wish to invalidate all of the progress that the women’s suffrage and gay rights movements has made.



The entire incident that has happened to Julie is completely unacceptable.

What happened to the “Press Conference” on 8/15 is completely unacceptable.

The cities response to what happened on the 15th is completely unacceptable.

What the attendees have had to endure since the 15th with the harassment, the bullying, and the abuse from locals, and from people abroad is completely unacceptable.


Nobody is coming to this protest Port Townsend to “cause trouble” or “harass the LGBTQ community” in any way. People are coming to Port Townsend to stand up for women’s rights to privacy, common decency, and to say enough, is enough.

People have the right to speak, to peacefully assemble, and to air their grievances.

That is the plan and we hope that it happens that way.
