For the American military industry, the normal level of production of 155 mm howitzer artillery shells is about 30,000 shells per year in peacetime. Ukrainian soldiers spend that amount in about two weeks, Dave de Roche, a senior fellow at the US National Defense University (NDU), told CNBC.
