Board Director Misconduct?
When board directors behave badly, the consequences for the board director and the organization can be swift, severe and long-lasting. Misconduct by board directors can be intentional or unintentional, and sometimes it’s difficult to tell the difference.
When someone perceives the actions or decisions of board directors as questionable, it gives the appearance of impropriety. Unfortunately, in some instances, the actions and decisions of some board members are undoubtedly illegal or improper. Whether board directors demonstrate blatant disregard for their responsibilities or they become the victim of an unintentional faux pas, the remaining board directors of corporations and non-profit entities have to decide what actions they need to take to deal with the fallout. Besides making decisions about the depth of an investigation, the remaining board members also need to decide whether making the debacle public will help or harm the corporation’s reputation. Regulations require that some types of misconduct be disclosed to the authorities and to the public.

Those with low confidence tend to manipulate. Narcissists are also highly manipulative. They usually try to control others through manipulations tactics such as, shaming, guilt tripping, and sometimes playing the victim. What makes narcissists manipulative is no different from what makes other become so. Lack of self-esteem, fear of losing control and lack of empathy is what makes narcissist become manipulative as well.

Charity fraud is when someone takes advantage of a charitable or non-profit organization for their own personal gain. Fraud is defined as intentional deception or misrepresentation made for personal gain. Defrauding a charity can be anything from falsely claiming to be a victim of the disaster in order to get money from the charity, to stealing donations from the collection tin, to setting up a fake charity and pocketing the donations.
Fraudulent activity can also occur when people make dishonest or inflated claims about how much money they have raised or how much it has helped the cause.
Some of the most common ways to commit charity fraud include:
• Pretending to be a charity or falsely claiming to be affiliated with a legitimate charity in order to solicit donations
• Making false representations about the cause or the amount of money that will be donated to the cause
• Diverting funds raised for charitable causes to personal use
• Falsifying receipts or other documents to make it appear as if donations were made when they were not
• Fraudulently inflating the value of donated items or services
• Tampering with books or records
