🇵🇪Former Perú president Pedro Castillo denies the accusations against him: "I am in prison because I did not sign the 'hoja de ruta"
The former president of Peru, Pedro Castillo, reiterated his innocence during the hearing requesting preventive detention for 36 months.
💬 "I have a clear conscience, I did not steal a penny (...) what I am going through today is because I did not sign the 'road map', because I did not allow them to be negotiated, because I started to collect the big ones historical accounts that this country has to the big transnationals" , stressed the ex-president.
The 'hoja de ruta' is the name used in Peru to refer to the pact established between former dignitary Ollanta Humala (2011-2016) and the country's business elite , with which the economic model was maintained and political continuity was guaranteed. Since then, no president has managed to finish his term.
