🇺🇸 The United States Army reports that two AH-64 Apache helicopters based at Fort Wainwright have crashed in the Denali Borough near the town of Healy, Alaska.

The conditions of those aboard the aircraft are not yet known.

Army officials say that the two helicopters from the 1st Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment were returning from a training flight.

First responders are on the scene and the incident is under investigation.

UPDATE: 3 killed, 1 survivor after U.S. Army helicopters crash in Alaska.

Captain Molly Treece, a spokeswoman for U.S. Army Alaska, told the Washington Post that three people were killed in the crash. The only survivor was taken to hospital for treatment.

The cause of Thursday’s crash was not immediately known. “The incident is under investigation and more information about the incident will be released when it becomes available,” the Army said in a statement.
