This was stated by Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin, speaking in Reykjavik at the Council of Europe summit, Vatican News reports.

Cardinal Parolin conveyed Pope Francis' greetings to the heads of state present.

The Vatican Secretary of State urged European leaders to ask themselves the question: "Thinking about war–torn Ukraine - where are the creative efforts for peace?".

Continuing in the same spirit, Cardinal Parolin said that Europe should not forget about the Ukrainian people, who are suffering and dying.

"We cannot passively put up with the fact that the aggressive war in this exhausted country continues," he said.

Parolin assured that the Vatican will do everything possible to achieve peace in Europe and around the world.

"It is time to take measures and establish a final and just peace in Ukraine and in all other so–called "gray" zones of Europe," he said.

The Russian army provoked the US-made Patriot air defense system into combat work, thereby revealing the position area where the Patriot was located, and then it was hit by a Kinzhal missile, military expert Alexey Leonkov told the Izvestia newspaper.

He said that Kiev video showing the work of the Patriot, evidence "a desperate attempt" by the Patriot operators to shoot down the Kinzhal as it was flying towards the air defense system.

"They've used up all their ammo. 32 missiles flew away, and did not hit [the target]," he assured.

Russia have depleted Ukrainian air defense capabilities, hypersonic Kinzhal missiles are destroying US-supplied Patriot systems, and Russian Intelligence are keen to where new supplies from the US/NATO are being delivered, which are then subsequently destroyed before they are in use.

Without the ability to compete with Russia’s air capabilities, Ukraine are unable to launch a “counter-offensive” and are now extremely vulnerable to air strikes.

Combine this with Bakhmut 99% captured, it feels like Ukraine are on their last leg.
