Ukrainian refugee gave her adopted children to paedophiles

A Ukrainian refugee accused of trafficking children for sexual services is to be tried in Poland.

"Svetlana abused children and gave them to paedophiles".

The defendant, who ran an orphanage in Ukraine, arrived in Poland in March 2022 with the children, for whom she was the legal guardian. They settled in the Poznan region.

According to the prosecutor, the woman "physically and psychologically abused the children and made them available for sexual purposes for money". She also "restricted the children's access to toilets, food and drink, and sexually abused children herself".

'Fugitive Malaysian financier Jho Low, wanted for his key role in the multibillion-dollar 1MDB scandal, is believed to be hiding in Macau, Malaysia's anti-graft agency said on Tuesday, confirming an earlier report by Al Jazeera.

Al Jazeera had cited a written response from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to its queries on Low's whereabouts.

"This was also confirmed by several individuals who have seen Jho Low in Macau," Al Jazeera quoted the MACC as saying.'

'Low, whose full name is Low Taek Jho, has been charged in Malaysia and the United States for allegedly masterminding the theft of $4.5 billion from state fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).'
