Newsweek must have taken some inspiration from my reporting on Putin’s speech at the “Strong Ideas for a New Time” conference.
Newsweek are mirroring my reporting. I was 12+ hours late to reporting on Putin’s speech because I was handling some business in DC yesterday, and the western media didn’t start reporting on Putin’s speech until 6+ hours after I reported on it.

The founder of the Money Saving Expert website warned the country was “getting close to a poll tax moment” — referring to the riots in the early 1990s over Margaret Thatcher's poll tax reforms.
Lewis said that he was seeing increasing numbers of people calling for a mass non-payment of energy bills.
Annual household energy bills are set to rise further in October when the price cap goes up, having already risen by more than 50% in April.
Lewis told ITV’s Peston programme: “The big movement that I am seeing is an increase of growth in people calling for a non-payment of energy bills, mass non-payment. Effectively a consumer strike on energy bills and getting rid of the legitimacy of paying that.”

Interesting how Pompeo had his visit go Taiwan largely ignored but mainstream but now when Pelosi wants to visit China immediately speaks out.
Pelosi attempted to visit Taiwan earlier this year but got "Covid" and couldn't go. What is going on behind the scenes is a question worth asking.
