Local officials worked with the San Diego Police Department and identified the man who went by "Roman" as Alex Roman Nguyen, 28, of California. Through cellular tracking, investigators discovered Nguyen took the teen out of Ohio. The FBI was called in to assist with the investigation. Officials were able to track Nguyen and the missing girl to El Paso, Texas.
