South Barrington Park District recently sold 30+ acres at 59 and Bartlett Road to Plymouth Brethren Church.

This plot of land borders Barrington Hills, so the Plan Commision May come into play- dependent on several factors.

After review by Commission and/or their delegates and upon independent investigation(s)- PBCC does not appear to be desirable neighbor to say the least.

Red Flags observed:
1) separation from family and friends is a practice;
2) claims of sex trafficking;
3) atrocities occurring as a pattern aimed at their young “members”;
4) and retaliatory measures, and silencing techniques employed (various means) to members who flee the Church.

There are concerns, and they have been reported- however independent investigations seem to get more done and further ensure things are done appropriately when it comes to government function(s).

We need more than “claims” and allegations of “unfamiliar practices” so as to further support the recommendations of that the independent investigation.

Petitions don’t hold much legal weight. I’m hoping for a hit on their “public religion” status. They are not “public” but members are born into it. You & I couldn’t attend, or visit.

Currently, the land is zoned for Park & Recreation use. The South Barrington Park District owned it for 20 years, bought for $3 million. It was just auctioned to PBCC for $1.7 mil

As mentioned before and above, they are NOT a “public religion” and the zoning laws (which were recently relaxed to make it easier for churches) state “public churches”, “public schools” and “public religions”. Not sure if a case can be brought, particularly against their legal arsenal.
