FEMA is planning on doing a test of their emergency alert system nationwide on October 4th.
What do you think they're planning for or is this just "standard procedure"?

Feb. 2021 Forbes article details former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund and House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul D. Irving had offered differing accounts of why National Guard help was delayed on Jan. 6, with Sund testifying before Congress that his call for help at 1:09 p.m. went unanswered and Irving saying he did not receive a formal request until nearly an hour later.
Pittman said the cell phone records show Sund first reached out to the House sergeant-at-arms at 12:58 p.m. (earlier than Sund testified), and then called again four other times: at 1:05 p.m., 1:34 p.m., 1:39 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.
“Chief Sund spoke to both sergeants-at-arms to request National Guard support,” said Pittman during the hearing, referring to Irving’s counterpart in the Senate, Sergeant-at-Arms Michael Stenger.
Irving said that he neither recalls nor has record of a phone call before 1:30 p.m., and maintains that a request for National Guard support on Jan. 6 did not reach him until after 2 p.m.
A group of House Republicans have seized upon Sund’s testimony about his attempts to reach the House sergeant-at-arms to suggest House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)—who was at the time sheltering in the Capitol complex—was involved in delaying the help of the National Guard.
