- The last time the National tree fell, was back in 2011 when Barack Obama was president
- It also was toppled and had to be replaced back in 1978 - when Jimmy Carter was president

Oh the irony

To unite the country, and to expand one's political party, one must necessarily develop empathy and understanding for those once on the opposing side of any given political issue.

The vast majority of BLM supporters had a misunderstanding of what BLM was about. They did not see it as a Marxist, Leftist insurgency operation and instead perceived it, or rather believed it, to be a cause that would bring about positive societal changes for their communities.

They were lied to, duped, taken advantage of, used, and harmed by it. And they are wising up to this reality.

Empathy and understanding followed by a willingness to embrace new allies in politics is the way forward.

We won't agree on everything, especially not at first, but we will find more and more things that we do agree on and discover new ways to work together- if both parties are willing and earnestly seeking it.

As long as we can find principles and values that we share, despite political differences, there is opportunity for cooperation.

And I promise you, this potentiality that former BLM supporters might abandon Dems and instead vote for Republicans, even if it is just a small contingent of them who do, is TERRIFYING to the Dems.

Trump has changed and continues to change our politics for the better. Embrace it.
