We are in a “FOURTH TURNING” - what does that mean?

The Fourth Turning is a theory suggesting that over the last 500 years, history has cycled through a repeating series of time blocks (“Saeculum”) spanning the length of a long human life of 80-90 years.

Each Saeculum is split into four eras (“Turnings”) lasting around two decades. Turnings come with their own identifiable mood, and together they form history’s rhythm of growth, maturation, entropy and destruction.

Turnings are associated with recurring generational personas (“Archetypes”) in which a new social, political, and economic climate exists. The theory holds that during the Fourth Turning, each generation will be called upon, according to its archetype, to fulfil a unique role in pushing the nation through another gate of history.
