Carlos Acosta, former DCFS worker, was convicted of mishandling abuse investigations of A.J. Freund before his murder.

Freund suffered abuse and torture and was killed in 2019 at the hands of his parents at their Crystal Lake home.

On Thursday, a judge sentenced Acosta to six months in the McHenry County Jail, along with 30 months probation, 200 hours of community service and a contribution to the McHenry County Children's Advocacy Center of $1,000.

This is the first time a DCFS employee has been convicted in Illinois.

The entire system needs burned to the ground.

Arizona man convicted of child sexual abuse given a 281 year prison sentence

An Arizona judge has sentenced a man to 281 years in prison for his role in the sexual abuse of five children.

Officials with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office say 34 year old Gerardo Estrada's sentence was handed down after a jury found him guilty of 13 criminal offenses, including nine counts of sexual conduct with a minor, three counts of child molestation, and a count of sexual abuse.
