Tony Okanase, 39, was released from Mountain Institution, Aug. 12, and reported to a halfway house in Vancouver. He then checked out and hasn’t been seen or heard from since, according to a press release from the police department. Okanase, who is now wanted Canada-wide, has a history of violent sexual offences against strangers dating back to 2003. He is a high risk to the public, according to police.

PIKANGIKUM RESERVE, ONTARIO - Officers responded to a call shortly after 5:30 pm and learned a female had been assaulted & choked by a teenage male. The male suspect allegedly tried to stab the female with a knife and then took her 5 month old baby. The suspect fled with the baby into the bush. Officers conducted a search of the bush, located the suspect and rescued the 5 month old baby. A 15 year old male C.Q. was criminally charged.
