New filing from Defense opposing Cole being held in jail pending trial. Hearing today at 1pm.

"Mr. Cole should be released pending trial because the governing, multi-factor analysis demonstrates that bail is required..."

The filing posits a solid argument for release on bond with GPS monitoring and other conditions pending trial. There's also some new info on Cole and confirmation of earlier reporting about him (Lvl 1 autistic, lives with family, works at family business, no criminal history, etc.)

Don't be surprised if he is given a bond and released on the suggested conditions. Also, don't allow yourself to react or allow others to bait you into being particularly upset if he is released on bond and with these conditions. The emotions about it are largely based on what we now know was a fictional portrayal of the pipe bomber.

So far, Cole Jr. doesn't seem anything like the bogeyman that politicians, influencers, and media have built for us.

At this point, rather than being an agent of the Deep State or a violent paramilitary group, he seems far closer to being a frustrated, reclusive, disturbed person who believed "everything was getting worse," and so he acted out in an irrational, dangerous way.

Many such cases.

The story in this case is looking like it will develop into one that's more about mental health, parenting, influences, internet forums, and the politics at the Cole home and workplace.

The conspiracies and cover-up narratives will persist, though.
Too much ego and money in it.

We have frozen all child care payments to the state of Minnesota.

You have probably read the serious allegations that the state of Minnesota has funneled millions of taxpayer dollars to fraudulent daycares across Minnesota over the past decade.

Today we have taken three actions against the blatant fraud that appears to be rampant in Minnesota and across the country:

1. I have activated our defend the spend system for all ACF payments. Starting today, all ACF payments across America will require a justification and a receipt or photo evidence before we send money to a state.

2. Alex Adams and I have identified the individuals in @nickshirleyy's excellent work. I have demanded from @GovTimWalz a comprehensive audit of these centers. This includes attendance records, licenses, complaints, investigations, and inspections.

3. We have launched a dedicated fraud-reporting hotline and email address at childcare.gov Whether you are a parent, provider, or member of the general public, we want to hear from you.

We have turned off the money spigot and we are finding the fraud.
