NEW. The Colorado Republican Party has filed an appeal to the United States Supreme Court, challenging the Colorado Supreme Court ruling which declared former President Trump ineligible to be placed on the Colorado primary ballot for an alleged violation of the 14th amendment. The ruling of the CO SC is stayed pending consideration from the Court.

BREAKING: The Biden administration has asked the Supreme Court to lift an injunction imposed by the fifth Circuit on a district court ruling that barred Texas from using wires barriers along the Southern Border in an attempt to prevent illegal border crossings.

NEW: Former President Trump has officially appealed the ruling of the Colorado Supreme Court to the United States Supreme Court. Trump asks the justices to consider overturning the decision of the Colorado High Court. This comes a week after the Colorado GOP submitted their appeal to the Supreme Court asking to the justices to do the same.

Today the Supreme Court is set to hear the one of the biggest cases of the term, one that could overturn the Chevron doctrine established in 1984. The justices will sit for oral argument this morning in two cases, Relentless, Inc. v. Dept. of Commerce & Loper Bright Enterprises, Inc. v. Raimondo, Sec. of Comm. Both dealing with the issue of the Chevron doctrine.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court has granted a stay asked by the DOJ to allow federal border patrol agents the ability to cut the barb wire fencing which Texas installed along the southern border to prevent illegal crossings. Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Barrett joined Justice Sotomayor, Kagan and Jackson in granting the stay.

NEW: Supreme Court has denied a stay request from Kenneth Smith, a death row inmate who is set to be executed tonight by nitrogen gas, a method never used before. Justice Kagan issued a public dissent in which Justice Jackson joined, and Justice Sotomayor issued a public dissent as well.

BREAKING: Supreme Court denies an emergency injunction request from Students for Fair Admissions, similar group who was responsible for the Harvard and North Carolina cases from last term. The case refers to the race-based admissions into the military academy West Point, which is still making its way through the appeals process. There were no public dissents.

Good morning Supreme Court fans, it’s opinion/argument day and we have a MAJOR case on the docket.

First, the Court will convene to announce one or more opinions in argued cases this term.

Second, in a historical and consequential election case since Bush v Gore, the justices will convene this morning to hear arguments in Trump v Anderson. The case is about whether former President Trump is constitutionally barred from running for president, citing A-14-S-3. The outcome of this case could have ripple effects throughout the nation and potentially on the November election.

BREAKING: Jack Smith, Special Counsel to the prosecution of former President Trump, has filed his response to Trump’s request for the Supreme Court to stay proceedings in his J6 case pending his appeals. Jack Smith asks the justices to deny Trump’s request, but also ask that if they don’t, they should expedite the case for a swift decision this term.
