⚡️Update on the Monero Attack

Its been about a week since Qubic started its attack on Monero, which would begin on August 2nd. Although the attack failed to gain its 51% attack over Monero, they've decided to mine Monero regularly.

The attack began with some drama —Qubic claimed their network was hit by a DDoS, slowing the start, although no one has confirmed any evidence of a DDOS attack.

They mined 20% of Monero’s blocks in 24 hours. If you choose to believe it, Qubic’s data shows an all-time-high hashrate of 2.6 GH/s, holding it for ~12 hours—about 35–45% of Monero’s total hashrate.

Monero Research Lab’s Rucknium released a tool to visualize “orphaned blocks”—blocks mined almost at the same time, forcing the network to choose a chain.

If you care about Monero’s future, mine with Gupax—it’s never been easier.

Optimism?

Given how often I babble on about people being stupid, short-sighted, gullible, fear-driven, forgetful, unprincipled and immoral, how could I possibly be optimistic about the future of humanity?

Pansified Peasants

The ruling class goes to great lengths to TRAIN the people to think and act like helpless, stupid children. And if you think "conservatives" are any better than liberals on that front, think again.

(Fun fact: The insult "pussy" did not come from a reference to anyone's genitals, but came from the word "pusillanimous," meaning "showing a lack of courage or determination; timid." Just in case any pathetic, boot-licking conservative pussies were wondering.)

Trump’s Crypto Scam Is ‘Largest Act of Financial Corruption in Presidential History’

Journalist Jacob Silverman joins to discuss how Donald Trump is using crypto for “the largest act of financial corruption in presidential history.” During what Trump dubbed “Crypto Week,” the House passed three major cryptocurrency bills, part of a broader push to deregulate the industry. Silverman explains how the unregulated crypto world is now deeply enmeshed with Trump’s most corrupt dealings, as the administration sells access, dismantles financial safeguards, and enriches the first family and its allies while destabilizing the economy and putting everyday Americans, and democracy, at risk.

The Threats of AI Come from the State

'...The threat of AI should be assessed, therefore, in terms of the potential impact it can have on the uncertain balance of power between state and society, or to express it more sociologically, between the ruling minority and the ruled majority. This relationship depends on who benefits most from new instruments of power, such as the printing press, modern banking, television, internet, social media, and artificial intelligence. In some cases, the state used these tools to enhance its control, but some of them may empower society...'

Rothbard: The Constitution Was a Coup d’État

Basically, urban merchants and artisans, as well as many slaveholding planters, united in support of a strong nation-state that would use the power of coercion to grant them privileges and subsidies. The subsidies would come at the expense of the average subsistence yeoman farmer who might be expected to oppose such a new nationalism. But against them, to support a new constitution, were the commercial farmers aided by the southern plantation-farmers who also wanted power and regulation for their own benefit. Given the urban support, the split among the farmers, and the support from wealthy educated elites, it is not surprising that the nationalist forces were able to execute their truly amazing political coup d’état which illegally liquidated the Articles of Confederation and replaced it with the Constitution. In short, they were able to destroy the original individualist and decentralized program of the American Revolution.
